I reported on the community service hours, GPA averages, philanthropy donations and overall accomplishments of our 17 Greek chapters and worked with another intern to write short stories, design and publish this large-scale newsletter.
Public Relations Plan
Here is a PR plan that I created for another course. I chose a locally-sourced home goods and candle store in my hometown of Jamesport, Missouri. I included objectives, goals and tactics to increase awareness of the company.
Communication Research Proposal
In a proposal for more research on the topic of visual communication, I studied the enhanced learning outcomes with multimodal methods. Specifically, I presented the idea that comic strip adaptations of social issues are better interpreted and understood than written messaging.
Crisis Communication Plan
For one of my courses, I was tasked with creating a crisis plan. I chose to use the Greek Life Office and included contact information, necessities and more, should a crisis occur in the Greek Life community.
Public Relations Plan
With a group of classmates, I created a PR plan for a high school case study involving a crisis within the school. We included background information, actions plans and budgeting goals.

Advertising Campaign
To close out my minor in Advertising, I took a course that looked at every aspect of running a campaign. From sketching thumbnails to pricing billboard ads, I learned the beginning to end of running an advertising campaign. Super Bowl Advertising
Throughout this research, I learned about the ad agency, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, and their work on this campaign. Additionally, I learned about the message behind the ad, the use of teaser ads and the target audience.
I chose to research how campus' could be using tokenism in their advertising and recruitment of students, especially athletes. I found that Northwest Missouri State University has a higher percentage of minority students in their social media, promotional videos and other advertising than coastal universities. This may seem great, but there is a higher percentage of minority citizens in those coastal areas than there are here in the Midwest. Overall, researching this topic truly opened my eyes to equitable advertising.
Tokenism in Campus Advertising
Adding a minor in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion was also a great decision as it has allowed me to expand not only my personal perspective, but how to broaden my work in advertising.

Analysis of Website Content
for Sneaker Bar Detroit.
My course over Web Publishing allowed me to analyze almost every aspect of the sneaker information site, Sneaker Bar Detroit. From back links to unique site visitors, I learned how Google ranks the best websites.
Usability Testing for Sneaker Bar Detroit
My recommendation to their site was to rearrange the ads on the search page, as they were significantly hurting the usability of the site. While doing so, I realized that small businesses like this rely largely on ad revenue. Leaving as much space for ads as possible, yet providing the user with a satisfying experience, was my top goal.

CSS coding
In my Web Development II course, I worked with a group on a semester-long project to re-create Northwest's CatPaws website. This is the site for all information regarding admissions, academics, billing, employment, course openings and much more. We created a site map and delegated pages. Using HTML, CSS and some JavaScript, I coded the Class Openings page with functional forms, dropdown boxes, buttons and links.

Alpha Sigma Alpha
I have always spent my spare time creating websites for fun. I started taking courses in web development and publishing and have learned a lot that I have used throughout this site. Below is a preview of a website I redesigned for my sorority. Creating websites for other people or organizations is much more exciting than creating one for myself. Having an overload of information to include in the site allows me to use my creativity to its fullest.
